BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Ahead of the 2024 Birmingham Corporate Challenge, presented by Hibbett City Gear, over 50 Birmingham-based businesses will compete in a field day-style event while raising money for the event’s newest philanthropic partner, Children’s of Alabama. 

Birmingham Corporate Challenge allows the corporate community to show off their competitive sides, while also building company culture and networking with other Birmingham businesses. Companies that register will be placed in one of three divisions based on their company size and compete in various head-to-head competitions such as dodgeball and tug-of-war. The event also features events that encourage company participation to earn points for their team. Last year, 1,715 participants from over 50 companies competed in over 4,800 events. 

“In addition to building company culture, promoting health and wellness, and networking opportunities, Birmingham Corporate Challenge allows participating companies and their employees the chance to give back to the Birmingham community through our philanthropic partner,” said Summer Hall, Knight Eady Culture Director and Corporate Challenge Team Director. “We’re thrilled to have Children’s of Alabama on board as this year’s philanthropic partner. Teams can earn points by donating or raising money for Children’s of Alabama, a win-win for both the teams and Children's of Alabama! The total points are tallied at the end of the event and determine the winners. Our goal is to better the Birmingham community and funds raised through the event is a direct way to support a local nonprofit that provides so much for our community.”

This event has raised over $40,000 in previous years for the event’s philanthropic partner. Funds raised will directly support Children’s of Alabama’s mission; provide the finest pediatric health services to all children in an environment that fosters excellence in research and medical education.

We have seen first-hand the impact this event has on the community, from promoting health and wellness, to building and fostering company culture, to the donations made each year to the philanthropic partner, and we expect this year to be even better and look forward to being a part of this event’s growth. The funds raised will directly benefit the children we serve.” 

The 2024 Birmingham Corporate Challenge will take place June 12-15, 2024 at the West Homewood Athletic Complex.
